How the Challenge Works

Take on this self-paced historical journey at your own convenience throughout the month of October. No fixed crowds, no rigid schedules!

• Step 1: The Militia Muster (Giddings Park)
  
  Head to the Giddings Park pavilion trailhead (151 Pond Rd) and scan the permanent yard sign QR code to "enlist" and log your start. Complete the 1.25-mile wooded trail loop (approx. 2,500 steps) and save a quick screenshot of your mobile fitness tracker.

• Step 2: The Liberty Reward (Museum Grounds & Gardens)
  
  March over to the Ashbel Woodward Museum grounds to explore our historic period gardens. Scan hidden garden QR codes to test your wits against our interactive 18th-century apothecary plant riddle quiz.

• Step 3: Claim Your Victory
  
  Achieve ultimate victory by bringing your final digital quiz completion badge screen to a docent inside the historic home during open hours.

The outdoor park trail and museum gardens are open daily from **Dawn to Dusk**. However, to pick up your limited-edition **1,776 Walktober Button**, view our original copy of Thomas Paine’s *Common Sense*, and see the "Rebel Yankeys" exhibition, you must visit the museum interior during the following open weekend blocks:
