The Ashbel Woodward Museum welcomes school groups, senior centers, clubs, and community organizations for guided tours that bring Franklin’s history to life. Our docents tailor each visit to the interests and needs of your group, creating an engaging and accessible experience for all ages.

This paired program offers an immersive look at both local and national history, making it ideal for school groups, adult groups, and community organizations.
Rebel Yankeys Exhibit
A guided exploration of the lives of Lebbeus Quy and Jacob Kingsbury—two Revolutionary War soldiers from Franklin whose experiences illuminate the social, racial, and political complexities of the era.
Interactive Tea Activity: “The Teas That Went Into Boston Harbor”
Participants handle and compare tea varieties similar to those destroyed during the Boston Tea Party while learning about the global tea trade, colonial protest culture, and the events that sparked a revolution.
This program deepens understanding of the American Revolution by:
Connecting national events to the lived experiences of Franklin and local area residents
Exploring themes of identity, race, class, and civic participation
Encouraging critical thinking through hands‑on learning and guided discussion
Providing sensory engagement that strengthens historical understanding
Available for groups of up to 24 participants
Cost: $8.00 per person for the combined exhibit and tea activity
Offered Fridays and Saturdays only by reservation
